I happened to catch Brooke Shields on the Today Show this morning. She has always been on my good list since she is smart

and seems level headed. Brooke had  this to say about Miley Cyrus's ridiculous performance on the VMA (Video Music Awards)

"I was Hannah Montana's mother!" she told TODAY's Willie Geist, then slipped into hand-waving faux-hysteria, adding: "Where did I go wrong?"

But more seriously, Shields — herself a former child star who had to transition into adulthood in the public eye — had other things to say about the performance. "I just want to know who's advising her, and why (the VMA display) is necessary.... (Our children) can't watch that.... I feel like it's a bit desperate."

Although she may be famous for 'Nothing comes between me and my Calvin's",

 Pretty Baby

 Endless Love

 and Blue Lagoon

 every show I have seen her on in recent years has shown her comedic and dramatic acting chops. Based on her appearances on talk shows, she seems like someone I would want to be friends with.

My point, you ask...back to the Today Show. I was pretty impressed that she looked her age. She was not some scary Botox, bad face lifted nightmare. She looks great for a normal 48 year old woman. She may have had some plastic surgery but it certainly has not been some major Joan Rivers type. She had crows feet, forehead wrinkles and laugh lines. I LOVED her natural look.(even with all the TV make up) She was funny, real and she blew her teleprompted lines at least 3 times in 30 minutes I watched the show. All the more reasons she should be friends with me.
