The List of Lasts Continued

The Lists of Lasts continues.

This week was my last All Star draft and boy was it uneventful. I was hoping for a little drama over which players to choose. Some passionate debate over who has the best pitching style and who can bring the big bat. Nope- nothin'. And with only one manager that wanted the position in each division, my job was super easy.

Today I wrote my last President's Message for the MMWLL yearbook. Someone else took over putting together the yearbook so my last yearbook was last years...  and I bet its gonna be awesome.

Tomorrow night will be my first and last Movie Night and Basket Auction. We'll see how that goes.

Boy vs Burrito

We went on a weekend staycation to the lovely Oceanside CA this Memorial Day weekend. We got a great deal at the Holiday Inn 4 days, 3 nights for 2 families for $199 and $ 150 back on an American Express Gift Card!

What a great deal, you say? What's the catch? 1 word... Timeshare! We had to listen to the owner upgrade deal and we had to bring friends. So we rounded up some of our most easygoing friends and off we went. We love our time share and would have upgraded to points every year instead of every other year but since the money pit of a boy has us down about $6000 since March, sadly no more timeshare points this time around.

At the Rockin' Baja Lobster, Colin ordered the Epic Burrito. I think it must have weighed 5 pounds. And he ate every bit.

As he lay on the floor in the hotel room groaning we had this conversation.

Colin: I need a beer.
Me: A beer???
Colin: I need a beer.
Me: When did you start drinking beer.
Colin: Today on the boat...
(he probably had a sip of Scott's on the fishing boat)
Me: I have some champagne
Colin: Nah, I need a beer
Me: Why, cause champagne is for girls?
Colin: Yea
Me: I guess you'll start drinking something manly like whiskey
Colin: I started drinking that yesterday.

The Line Up

Scott makes tons of baseball line ups. One game gets over and he is onto making 3 or 4 lineups for the next game. Favorite saying? "Time to make a lineup." You could say he is obsessed.

While watching "The Office", I got a little inspired. It was the episode where Jim puts Dwight's stapler in jello and leaves it in his drawer for him to find.

You got it...

The lineup is in jello. What's next???? Maybe a bat....

Fire!

There are at least 9 fires burning in San Diego. Luckily we are in no danger at this point, although smoke is visible from my house.

And it was dang, stinkin' hot today...seriously! Good thing the solar panels are  powering the AC that has been running for 3 days straight. Not only hot but very poor air quality.

Shoe Junkie

My name is Marybeth and I am an addict.

All together now..."Hi Marybeth!"

I admit it. I am a shoe junkie. Just this week I got these 6 pairs of shoes! 6 pairs! Holy Moley!!!
Let's take a look:

TOM'S - 2 pairs from their sale site. In case you don't know,TOM'S are super comfortable. And for every pair you buy, they donate a pair to a child in need. So really it's charity.

Feelgoodz Flip Flops
Why buy flip flops for $20 when you can get them from Old Navy for like $2? These are sooooo comfortable! They kind of mold to your feet. And they are biodegradable. So it's good for the environment. Plus there was a deal for 20% off. I think they need to check their Tech Support because the coupon code gave me $20 off. Score! Practically free!

These kicks are from Avon...really... It's not just makeup anymore and I'm helping out my friend, Jasmine.

Who doesn't love Kohl's? Get their Kohls charge and it's like you hit the coupon lottery! Plus now they have Kohls Rewards. I got an email with a $20 reward. That combined with my 30% off coupon and $10 off sticker that was stuck on the front of the newspaper got me these platforms.

And these Blinged Up Baseball Flip- Flops? - bought them from myself at Baseball Moms Rule. The Prez should look Presidential scooting around our dirt fields.

Yup - I'm an addict.

My favorite kinder teacher, Ms Bartig is also in the Shoe Junkie Club. I found the need to share my story after she admitted to buying 5 pairs of shoes this week too!

Jewelry Binge

Since Ericson has been off for a month, so have I. Since I  had been working so much and with baseball in full swing, I have not had much time to make any jewelry lately. Until now...

Lets's see what we have here.

I've been on a bracelet kick the last few days.

Macrame! Its back!

Guess what these are...

Washers - from Home Depot

I also have been inspired by my friend and author TJ West's book November Rain. (coming out as an ebook on June)
Marty's Necklace

Matt's Bracelet

And a couple of necklaces

Now I just need to get them all uploaded to my Etsy site and hoepfully sell them.

Don't Mess With The Prez...Again

Hi there, Remember me? I know, I know, its been awhile. Not much has been going on that is blog worthy. Even the carpool has been quiet and not particularly funny. Until now...

Looky, looky! I caught an illegal dumper and not an old decrepit man. 2 healthy, young men! One of whom actually played in our league a while back.
(That's Sarah B telling them to remove their stuff as I'm walking over taking pictures)

After politely being asked to remove the ceiling fans and junk they, put in our dumpster, they argued that since there is no sign on the dumpster, its open to the public. Well, there are signs at both entrances to the complex. And the dumpsters are behind a fence in the complex, therefore NO DUMPING IN THE COMPLEX! A$$hole!

Once they realized I was taking pictures, they beat it out of there pretty fast. Kicking up a pile of dirt and almost hitting some people.

What did I do besides take the pictures, you ask? I sent the pictures to our SDPD Community Relations Officer, along with his phone number and address which I found in some old registration records from 2011. I guess its fortunate that we don't clean out our computer files....like ever...

And  I posted them on our Facebook page. Funny - we are getting a lot of new requests to join our group... from Mira Mesa High students. Why??? Turns out he is a star player on the Mira Mesa High varsity baseball team. So Scott called his baseball coach.

Bad move Matthew Reitano!

Did I post the link to the video I made of Colin's East Coast trip? If not, here it is. His teacher took most of the pictures. The last song may sound weird, Dang copyright laws...
