The Everyday Project Day 363

Wow! Marching bands sure have changed since I was in one 30+ years ago. (yikes, did I just say 30+ years???) Gone are the days where you show up to a football game in some school buses wearing your uniform and carrying your instrument or flag or rifle.

I went to see my nephew, Zachary in the Fountain Valley Royal Regiment. http://www.fvhsmusic.com/ They OWN an 18 wheel semi truck for their props and instruments! And not only that, they also have 2 smaller trailers that are pulled with trucks. Totally tricked out. And they have tons of parents as roadies and uniform people.

Their show is called WaterWorld after that Kevin Costner movie. Its very trippy but fabulous. I can not believe the amount of props they have. Flags of every color, rifles, sabers, giant 50 gallon drums, other stuff that I don't even know what it is and a giant windmill. Its Zachary's job to run the windmill. The marching and the playing is just amazing!
When he is not running the windmill, Zack plays the clarinet. That's him in the Disneyland parade.

Times sure have changed.

It is what it is...
