The Everyday Project Day 359

Loooong rehearsal for Music Man. I gotta give all these kids credit cause it was pretty boring. Tonight was the first night in the actual theater and there was a ton of blocking (theater talk for moving people around) and working out the logistics. Even the youngest ones were there for 4 hours. Cara's group had a 6 hour rehearsal and a lot was standing around on stage and getting moved here and there. There wasn't a lot for me to do but the "pros" said we go a ton accomplished but it may change tomorrow. There were plenty of backstage people so most of us only had to move 1 prop each scene change. The rule is if you put it out, you bring it back. I'm kind of worried about doing it in the dark. I'll probably drop something or trip.

This is interesting. The lead role of Harold Hill is played by a wonderful actor  and exceptional singer named James whose last name I can't remember. He is black. His love interest is Marion the Librarian who is white. Props for color blind casting.

FYI for those of you who think this is a small town community theater, MET 2 has 4 SoCal locations and several famous graduates including Sophia Copplola, Nicolas Cage and Adam Lambert. They also have at least 4 graduates performing on Broadway right now.  http://www.met2.org/

It is what it is...
