The Everyday Project Day 79 1/2

Bonus edition. Thought you all might like to see what went out the the league tonight. If you're in for the blog, you're in for the blast...

Wow! What a great turnout for the Field Clean Up Day and All League Meeting! As I am continually told.. why didn't we take before and after pictures? Probably because the "Before" was the best I have seen in my 7 years with the league. As I looked out over the full stands,I did see a few shocked looks when I said the city didn't give us ANY money and some of the things we pay for such as Porta Potties, trash, dirt and equipment. It really is all us.

Thanks are in order. First, to everyone who showed up ready to work. How cute were those t-ball kids with the giant rakes?

To Eric Christian (minors manager), his family and his crew for leading the work party, bringing the bobcat and earthmovers, getting the the snack shack gate fixed and finally submitting his expense receipts.
To Chris Salas (t-ball manager) for being the mostly unseen worker bee who is constantly at the fields, cutting, raking, fixing, cleaning and organizing. The equipment sheds look almost as good as Nordstrom.
To the Intermediate Division Managers and crew for taking on the huge project of rebuilding the bullpen and the infield.
To Cara M and Laura P for running the snack shack and making sure everyone was well hydrated with water , Gatorade and slushies.
To the Fletcher Padres tball team for cleaning the snack shack inside and out.
To Jennifer Widhopf (treasurer) for paying our bills, making the budget, and keeping our money and registration logs so organized and in order.
To Scott MacNaughton (player agent) for putting the teams together, making all the schedules, chasing paperwork and proofs of residence as well as uploading all the information to LL International. (And he is also a great husband).
To Sarah Barrett for sending all the email blasts on a moments notice.

Many thanks especially to all the managers, coaches, umpires, parents and volunteers who are carrying on the Little League tradition for our Mira Mesa community. MMWLL would not exist without its heart and soul... the volunteers.

Remember we communicate through these emails, the website www.MMWLL.org and Facebook. Our group is Mira Mesa West Little League.

Let's Play Ball!
