The Everyday Project Day 318

Woo-hoo! Today my sister, Paula is back as a guest blogger with an update from the farm. She is one of the "large landowners" I was talking about when I was demolishing my Bougainvillea bush. Paula, her husband Roger and their big dog, Magnus purchased the family farm.  Stoney Creek Orchards are located in the rolling hills of Hunterdon County NJ. Its not called the Garden State for nothing. Right now its apple season.

Johnny Appleseed is a famous historical American figure, who’s most notable for his spread of apple trees throughout Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. He was a prominent conservationist, business man and religious figure, and well known and liked for his kindness and generosity – Johnny Appleseed Day commemorates his birth on September 26, 1774.

SCO's own "Johnny Appleseed" aka "Farmer Roger". He had to miss the Annual Day-at-the-Races on Saturday to pick apples and then picked again on Sunday with help from Magnus (and me to cheerlead) because the apples are falling off the trees - not a green one in sight!

Lots of choices - all heirloom varieties and organic! Hoping to press cider this weekend… Welcome to fall in NJ - wish you were here!

It is what it is...
Namaste
