Slug Bugs and Tweeties

Going anywhere in the car with Cara involves a game of Slug Bugs and Tweeties. You may know that Slug Bugs or Punch Bugs are a VW Bug, however this is not the only car I get continually punched in the arm (or tapped in Cara's case) when spotted. Oh no, what else could there be you may ask. Here is the list:
 Slug Bug,
Old School (old vw bug),
 New School (new vw bug)
Marshmallow (white vw bug)
Hippie van (vw van)
Soft Top and Hard Top Slug Bugs
Tweetie (any yellow car)
Kermit ( any green car)
Cube ( any square car such as Kia Soul, Element, Cube, X-B something,etc)
There are also variations that I still don't remember.

So this pretty much covers over 60% of the cars on the road. I am also supposed to spot all these cars before her and call them out while tapping her back, listening to the Radio Disney and driving. And she knows where all the neighborhood cars are parked so my arm is bruised before we even leave our neighborhood.

Me: Twinkie
Cara; Its a "Tweetie" as she hits me, not a Twinkie,
Me: Sorry, Twinkies are yellow
Cara: Kemit
Cara: Kermit

Me: I'm not playing, I quit
Cara: You can't quit until we get there. Kermit
Me: Twinkie, no wait Yellow, no wait..,
Cara: Mom, I told you its not Twinkie, it Tweetie
Me: Kermit
Cara: Mini, cube,etc
Me: I already called that.
Cara: I added on.
Me: You can't do that. I quit.
Cara: Yes I can. You can't quit till we get there. Tweetie.

Saturday Nights Alright

In my family, if you are a kid and you spend a a lot of time here you officially become one of my kids and you get a number. Right now I have 1,2 and 6 here. Colin, being my first born is 1 and Cara is 2. Colin's friends Cody and Andrew are 3 and 4. Cara's friends Tori and Cadence are 5 and 6. The rules are you have to get along with the other kids. If you make trouble, you will be sent home. You never lose your number because even if you are having problems with Colin or Cara, you are on the MacNaughton rubber band and will bounce back eventually.
1 and 6 are playing Guitar Hero and 2 is watching Nick. This is a new development in MacNaughton world. Usually Colin and Cadence exist in the same universe but the paths don't intersect unless absolutely necessary.

It's Saturday night and we are all together. It's been a busy week. Poor Scott has had migraine for the last 4 days. He has been in bed for 2 of them. I have been working at Ericson and MMPP so the money is trickling in. Since I didn't anticipate working I had the mangos and peppers cut up to make some Mango Pepper jelly. I made the jelly yesterday before the mangos went bad. Thursday is a big clean up day at the fields so I was at Home Depot at 8 with GB shopping for supplies. $850 later, GB loaded up his friend's truck and took the stuff to the fields. That guy works so hard for MMWLL.

2 baseball games tomorrow, MMPP on Monday, Ericson on Tuesday, field trip to the Midway on Wednesday, field cleannup on Thursday.Fit in practices for baseball and soccer. Start all over on Friday.

Busy life...gotta love it... Stay organized.

The 1st Post

I was a Facebook holdout for so long. I finally joined FB with the intention of trying to sell more of my jewelry line, In The Mood Designs but got caught up in checking in and posting random things. But now I don't want to seem like one of "those" people. You know, the ones who post every little thing... my cat pooed, I'm doing laundry, now I'm going to 7-11.

 Don't get me wrong, I like Facebook. Its like crack for computers. I love looking at everyone's pictures, especially fancy food. Finding out about vacations, getting good deals, reading happy and inspiring quotes... But I'm sure that everyone doesn't want to read every little thing from my life either.

 I'm not sure why but I have been given journals as gifts for most of my life and I have yet to write more than one entry in any of them. Plus my handwriting sucks. Maybe a blog would be a better forum for what's going on in my life. So it is what it is.
